The July 4th bbq ended up being a great time. Lots of family, friends and neighbors showed up to hang out. I had a little shadow that followed me around for over an hour. My inability to understand what he was saying half of the time didnt dissuade him from telling it to me anyway.

It all started out because I had a blob of ink on my finger.
After wiping the ink onto this page I thought I would find out what the other colors of ink looked like smeared around on the paper. I was hoping to get more of a “splash” affect but the drops of ink didnt really splash much at all. I then wiped the ink around the page with a paper towel.
Behold the results of my accidental art.

My friends on Facebook may have noticed that suddenly there are lots of notes posted to my page there. There is a cool feature that lets you import an RSS feed to your notes on Facebook. The only thing I dont like about it is that any links from my original blog post do not transfer over.

It now seems to be commonplace that I “plan” on writing “more” for my blog with out ever getting to the actual writing of the “more”.
I wanted this blog to have themes or re-occurring themes such as the Interesting Words articles but it just seems like too much work right now to plan things out in that much detail. I need this blog to be fun… not work.
So from now on I am only going to write about things that are exciting to me, things that have my full attention, things that take very little effort to write about.
I’ll give you a little clue as to what you’ll be hearing way to much about in the coming weeks…. Disc Golf.
It begins now.
Im looking at using MacJournal for keeping a personal journal and also for writing my blog posts. The interface for creating entries in Word Press is rather “industrial” in its feel. MacJournal has a very clean feel to it so I think it may work well. However I dont know if this will get posted correctly as cant tell for sure if Word Press is supported. As I am writing this post in MacJournal I’ll find out very soon if it works or not!!

In January I signed up with DreamHost as my web hosting company. It was a breeze to setup my new blog using their one click WordPress install! Since then I have been tinkering around with WordPress trying to find a theme I could live with at least for the short term. Down the road I plan on tweaking things but for now I need to get back to the business of actually posting new content.
I will be moving a good amount of the posts from scifimonkeyblog.com to this blog. I might still use that domain for … something … eventually.

482 headlines to skim!!
Today was a busy day for me. I didnt get to do my usual reading before work and at lunch. Around 9pm when finally got home I had 482 articles to skim through. Sheesh! I need to increase my reading speed some how. It was actually worse before I trimmed my site list. Many of the articles were duplicates or similar. I read around 30 of the full articles. Much of it is tech news, software updates, news, blogs, and other sites of interest that provide an RSS feed.
Not sure what RSS is? It stands for Really Simple Syndication. It was designed for sharing headlines and other web content. Its a really fantastic way of speeding up your information gathering. Rather than go to dozens of websites to check for new content, just have the RSS reader do it for you. I could link a few sites on the topic but I’ll leave that for another post perhaps.
EDIT: RSS also happens to be my initials and the name of my this fancy new blog.
