Unfortunately this year there wasn’t all that much snow by Christmas time. It doesnt seem right if you can still see grass under the tiny bit of snow that is on the ground. What ever happenend to the several FEET of snow that we use to get by Christmas time? Well hopefully by the new year we’ll get a good snow fall to cover things up.
This year as usual we had the extended family Christmas gathering at the Red Barn. The barn for those of you who dont know is an classic farm style “barn” that was converted into a regular building with meeting areas and a kitchen. Its over 100 years old if I’m not mistaken. Our family has been having a Christmas Eve gathering there for at least the past several years. Its always a great time and I get to see my cousins and relatives I usually dont see much during the year. In this picture you’re seeing a bunch of the cousins who were present. Three of the E’s from Brazil were there. That would be Elaine(E2), Esther(E3) and Elizabeth(E4). Edelweiss (E1) is currently in New Zealand.
Grandma Elaine (Great Grandma to some) was there also. Its amazing that she still gets around so well on her own at 92!! I hope that when I’m 92 I have as much energy! She has to be on of the BEST Grandmas ever!!
Black and red seem to be a big theme this year. We decided to take a picture of everyone who was wearing red and black and then one of everyone else. Those pictures, along with all the other ones from the gathering are up on my Christmas 2004 picture page. I’ll be posting a video of Sue in the hat I FINALLY finished for her. It only took me 3 years.
As in previous years we had some great food, I especially liked Nate’s Famous Beans, and the Pao De Queijo (Brazilian Cheese Bread) … literal translation is bread of cheese. Mmmmm that was very good.
Merry Christmas everyone!!!
